Vacation help take 2: Florida bound.....

Not that won't break the bank. It has been a while since I have been back and didn't stay in many while I was there. The close to PB island you get the more expensive it is going to be. Worth Ave is the east coasts version of Rodeo Drive.

Let me rephrase what I said before. It won't make you a better diver per se. It will, however, make diving in the conditions you might find in Florida and Hawaii seem much simpler as you aren't as apt to have to deal with vad visibility, cold water, kelp and thick wet suits (or dry suits)...

Vacation help take 2: Florida bound.....

There are literally dozens of dive shops near Pennekamp. Not one specifically I would recommend. That said, if you are thinking of getting certified, do it here and do your open water in Monterrey. The reason I say this is because it is much more challenging and will ultimately make you a better...

Vacation help take 2: Florida bound.....

My old stomping ground (born and raised there). In the Palm Beach Area most of the reefs are pretty dead from a coral perspective. Better off just snorkling. Bathtub Beach http://www.insideflorida.com/detail/bathtub-reef-beach/ in Stuart is decent and there are some nice areas of the reef...

Looking for ideas on Closed Loop pump

I ran a Dart on that system. Biggest issue you are going to have is if you run an OM 4 way or something else to alternate the flow into the outputs. It really knocks down the flow from the CL pump significantly. I was very tempted to close up the bulkheads and ditch the CL on that tank...

    MH goes on and off

Or it could be electrical interference if you are using an electronic ballast. My Icecaps hated my reefkeeper controller.

    What Eats Coralline?

Think MG helps too. Not completely sure but my old tank was a corraline factory.

    Joel's Tank Journal(s)

The answer is, I was never able to get a bridge working correctly with AT&T's crappy 2 wire router. I went to a hard wired connection to my router when I had it up.

STICK A FORK IN IT..............AND CALL HER DONE

Be very careful with the kiddie pool. I know directly of a person (happened to be the person who originally owend my old tank) that lost everything going that route. He believes something leached out of the kiddie pool that killed all of his corals...

Need advice on removing stablish sandbed out

Just went with my gut is the amount I removed each time. Was worried in what I might stir up or potentially recycling the tank if I did it all at once. No solid evidence that it would cause a problem but decided that it was a conservative route. If I did stir some bad stuff up, I limited it by...

Need advice on removing stablish sandbed out

When I did it several years ago, I would just vaccuum out a little bit with each water change until it was pretty much all gone. Took a couple of months.

    Securing Tanks for Earthquakes

My theory behind this was always if there was a quake big enough to cause problems with my tank, would i even care about what happened to the tank. Have heard that securing it to the wall can actually make it worse then better, but have nor proof for such rumor.
