Mike and Ashley's 150g reef tank (our first)

I like sea hairs as well. Thanks! What kind of quarantining does one do for urchins and sea hairs?

I have a Tomini tang (small) that isn't making a dent in it. Refugium light running 9 hours at night. I plan to get more astrea snails and an urchin would be fine to pick up as well (I like those guys). Thanks!

Hi All, Crazy busy with work. Everything is growing well and over the last two weeks I have had a crazy outbreak of green hair algae. I have been manually pulling it out and it is growing like crazy. Same tank parameters as above, no phosphates of nitrates - assuming the algae is is taking it...

Thanks! A couple of new corals still sitting around on plugs. I'm getting a small saw for my anniversary so I can cut the plugs down and properly mount the corals. I need suggestions for stuff for the top of the right side rock structure.

Hi All, Everything is going well. Just super busy at a new start up trying to pull together a team and make timelines. Rescued by Vincent a few times - THANKS! Tank is doing well. I've added quite a few soft corals which are all doing well and just a couple of hard corals. Had a bout with hair...

Thanks. It was on a rock for about a day and then this morning was blowing around the tank. I'll try the rubber band!

Hi All, It's been a while - busy with a new job. I dialed up the reds and greens a bit and that brought out some more color, though still disappointed in the color of the red planet, but it is growing well, so I am not messing with things. In fact, everything except the green hammer is growing...

Thanks. I'll play some with the red/green this weekend. I have the red planet and the forest fire for red corals and a green monti for a non-fluorescing green coral. The birds nest and bird of paradise have some green in them as well. Best regards, Mike

Hi All, I received the tank cover from artfully acrylic. It fits perfect and the workmanship is very good. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Best regards, Mike

Hi All, So I followed your instructions and basically wound up turning the blues all way up, added a little bit of white, and then visually dialed the red/green and wound up with them at almost zero. Kind of just like what you guys said would happen, imagine that :) I then dialed up the UV...

    Purple firefish

Thanks. We also need to pick up some type of bright purple coral (not a monti) as we are kind of missing that in our tank, so I need to hit some LFS's in any case. I'll give them a call.

    Purple firefish

    S. San Jose, but happy to drive anywhere in the Bay Area for a good fish. I ordered my paired clowns from sustainable aquatics in TN and that was a good experience, so not afraid to order on line from a quality retailer.

    Purple firefish

Hi All, Our tank cover from artfully acrylic is shipping this week, so it is time we get a purple firefish into quarantine. This is my wife's first pick for inhabitants. Recommendations on where to purchase a healthy fish would be greatly appreciated. Local or on line is fine, just want the...

The Mitras are pretty nice in this regards. As you can see from the previously posted spectrum, each color LED has its own slider output control, and there is also a master. You can directly view the changes to the lights to play around with it without actually loading the file to the lights...
