Air Ambient Temperature Probe Sensor for Apex

Looking to keep tabs of my sump and equipment room temp. I read that the Neptune Temperature Sensor can be used for ambient temperature readings, but not optimal. Some people place it in a cup of water. I could put it in my RODI brute tank at the bottom.

Wondering if someone has wired an aftermarket thermistor. Not sure if it’s two or three wire, but I believe Neptune uses 4p4c connector.

Neptune uses 2 wire sensor for temperature. I dont know if you can wire up anything other than those.. but its relatively easy to hookup a pt-100 or ds18b20 sensor and get ambient temperature readings, if neptune allows publishing external data using API, you can combine those two to get ambient temperature pushed from outside system inside fusion.

I don't think you should inject data into fusion. It is meant to be pushed directly from apex unit. But you can grab data out from fusion with ease.

Will be using these in the new stand build.

Why? Just curious.

My tank is at my office, and the sump and equipment is in the storage room behind it, which isn't insulated and is adjacent to the concrete exterior wall. Not there in the middle of the night, so wanted to see how cold, or hot during the summer, it gets back there. I do have a nest thermostat and hvac in my office, but no air goes to the storage room unless I keep my office to storage room open, but fighting the colder storage room temps would waste a lot of hvac energy.
