Our mission

Only in my dreams..

Fun!
But I am curious : Assuming you found $800 lying in the street, would you really want that fish?

It is rare, sure, but only a few experts would know that. So minimal bragging rights.
And rare means it probably should have been left on the reef, not sold.
So perhaps a bit of guilt.

It is really not that different from a Carpenter's anyway.
In fact, I might argue some of the "cheap" flasher wrasse look nicer.

And the stress of an expensive/rare fish seems like a pain.

If I were to find $800 on the road, would I go and buy the fish? No. Why? Same reason I wouldn’t but it now. It’s $800.

If the fish was given to me for free (so still 0 cost for me) you bet I’ll keep it.

I don’t think it’s rare. I think it’s rarely caught. Maybe it’s a deeper water wrasse. I’m not sure.

I don’t understand the allure of expensive or high-mortality fish and coral, but this is a hobby and it’s great that we all like different aspects of it. That’s what keeps it interesting for lots of folks I suppose.
