My pair breeds every month but there's no way to collect the fry or isolate the male before hatching. Found one in my sump and raised it in my filefish tank. It's about 1.5" from mouth to tail tip and eats frozen brine.
Pickup in Dublin or can bring to frag swap...
Sharing and documenting my attempt at DIYing an acrylic mesh lid. For my tank (83" x 26") it'll run about $600 from many of the vendors. Cost aside, the feeling of needing to have all the cut outs planned ahead of time makes me nervous since I change it up every now and then. When I bought my...
Nice to see and chat with some familiar faces. Thanks to the volunteers for manning the BAR booth. It's kind of like our home base.
Did u guys pick up anything at CFM? I went specifically for soft corals for my mangrove tank which is all daylights, so nothing that requires blues to fluoresce...
I bought a 5lb box of pool grade diatomaceous earth a couple years back and barely made a dent usage since I only use a couple tablespoons at a time. If anyone wants any feel free to grab some since you can't buy this stuff in small quantities. Pickup in Dublin
For those wondering, DE gets used...
I bought this as a tiny frag in March 2023 and have grown it out under medium to high light and flow. At the time it was sold to me as an LRO Bubblicious goniopora but I can't find much reference to it online and what I do find doesn't match up in looks, so I'll just call it bubblicious. I...
Have 2 big zebra turbo snails to re-home. I've had them since they were small and now they're about 3 inches in diameter. Great algae eaters but have a tendency to knock over sps frags. Probably better for a softie tank or fowler.
All picked up
Been growing on the walls of my frag tank and I want to scrape them off. At least 10 square inches of it. It will be a loose scraping and may contain algae. Pickup in Dublin.
90% of reefers I've visited are hoarders, myself included. We have periodic garage clear out sales to get some sanity back. We like to tinker with gadgets. We have backups for our backup equipment. Equipment from previous setups that will maybe be for future setups. How do you guys organize your...
What are you favorite tongs/tweezers/grabber for picking up things, moving, and other maintenance? I'm talking >20" to be able to reach the bottom of the tank.
My favorite tongs just broke after a couple years and are no longer available. I loved how nimble these were for delicate work with...
Some items I'm not using available for grabs. Will be at the swap
*claimed* Reef Jerky marked 202405. I think that's the mfg date because that's about when I bought my Plank @derek_SR if you're interested
*claimed* Seachem de nitrate 1L, 50% full
*claimed* Red Sea Magnesium 1000ml. New...

Anyone know of an easy place to buy Interceptor or have any extra they'd sell? Or any veterinarians that give a perscription? While doing my inspections for aefw, I now see acro red bugs  They don't seem to be doing damage but they sure aren't helping with coral stress.
Got this from another member but not using it so paying it forward. Works fine, just not precision enough for dispensing freeze dried foods.
Pickup in Dublin
For anyone that has ever purchased fish and other livestock online and had it shipped, you may have seen instructions to not drip acclimate. I never really understood why since drip acclimation was standard protocol and seemed logical. Turns out drip acclimation is only applicable when the fish...
Show off your coral graveyard! :p It's not all sunshine and rainbows in this hobby. If you don't have failed attempts, are u even trying?
Pic taken because my wife was complaining about this in the yard. I'll eventually bleach then recycle them as calcium reactor media.
While visiting the Frost Aquarium in Miami with family, my son got excited about seeing seahorses and wife asked if I could put them in my tank (obviously not). I took that as a green light to set up a new tank :p This will be a mangrove and macroalgae specific tank with seahorses and...
I'm late to the 3D printing game but just got one and holy moly this thing is awesome once dialed in. I've purchased at least $100 in 3D parts but now I can print at home. What are your favorite aquarium items that you've printed?
So far I've printed this Hanna cuvette drying rack and a DI...
