got ethical husbandry?

Car Advice wanted

Honda Fit is a nice car, my g/f just bought a Nissan Versa and we love it. After driving the Yaris, Fit, and some little Scion thing, she settled on the Versa because it has a ton of legroom even in the back seat, and was thousands less than the other choices.
 
My gf's fit is getting somewhere around 30-35mpg I think doing mostly in-town driving. It's one of the 08 fits, but I'm not sure how much they changed for the '09 model.
 
The Passat tdi looks interesting. Definitely good diesel mileage, eventhough diesel is now more expensive. Anybody know anything about these. Back seat still looks small. Much bigger than a Jetta? This is turning into an interesting journey. If I end up with the Prius, I think I'll go plugin, since Chabot supports E technology.
 
Plug in Prius is nice, however there are limitations, you still are limited to under 42 MPH, so no freeway speeds, and the conversion runs around $10,000 last I checked.
