got ethical husbandry?

Chalice “blistering” in a corner.

So I noticed my mushroom was torching my chalice so I moved it and turned it vertically. A few days later a corner of the chalice shows blistering. All of my other chalice are doing fine.

I have since moved the chalice and laid it horizontal.

Could this be a sign of low mag and calcium?

I disagree that you can rule out the mushroom. I have a couple Ricordea yumas that have melted the edge of of every chalice they have touched.

True -- forgot about Ricordea's and especially Yumas. The blistering just made me think of a sweeper pumping toxins into the chalice. I've had that happen from Euhyllia a number of times.

Here's a targeted attack that I snapped a pic of. The frogspawn didn't like the yuma at all and put out 1 stinging tentacle to target the yuma.

Both are still within safe parameters. I wouldn't worry about Mg unless you were like in the 10xx. 7.7 alk is what a lot of SPS'ers are running their tanks at.

I'm one of those....my alk on all three of my tanks are around 7.5.
