Anyone have experience with the EcoSystems Pro Series HOB/mud refug/Skimmer combo?

Reef Aquarium Vol.3 has an extensive section about it but doesn't come up with any definitive conclusion, and I think refers to the previous model that was 'skimmerless'. Any personal experiences to share?
 
I tweaked a tank years ago that had one, I thought it was pretty decent for a smaller tank, but the fuge is soooo small I don't think it has much of an impact on a larger tank, say 40g and above. The skimmer is good, especially if you use a modded maxi jet pump, but limited as well as far as tank size goes.
 
Skimmer is a CPR skimmer and run best on the Acella pump :)
 
CPR now ships the Bak pak and Aeroforce with the Acellas.
