New Salinity Meter

Hi all,

I was searching around for a good salinity meter and found one by Sper Scientific, Waterproof Salinity Test Meter (Pen Style) on Amazon. Have any of you heard of or used this device?? The Sper Scientific meter is a lot cheaper than the Pinpoint model.

What are reefers using to test salinity these days?

Thanks,
Mike

I use a refractometer calibrated with the club standard. The device you found would work fine as long as it is calibrated properly. You can test it against the standard to see if it measures correctly. Pretty nice it floats if you drop it in the tank. If you get it, let us know how it works out.

this one does TDS, conductivity and salinity!

I purchased the Sper Scientific salinity monitor yesterday and it should arrive next week. I called the company to see if the device came with any calibration solution and I was told it does not. r0ck0 was mentioning that he uses a refractometer calibrated with the club standard... I would like to calibrate this montior with the club standard.. how do I go about doing that??
