So I casually mention to the wife I was gonna look to reinforce the deck and put an outdoor tank in that nook...

...gonna take her ignoring me as a implicit "ok" :D

Haha... the real test is when she actually sees the tank set up

I bought a Ring yesterday at OSH on clearance , cuz we talked about it. She saw it, thought it was ugly. And said no.

Now I have a brand new Ring in the garage awaiting eBay or regifting to my siblings. Doh

Btw, was doing research on doing an outdoor reef/frag tank...

Found this and super encouraged!!

Wondering if I can get away without a full on sump.. hmm...

..or if I do, I would partition the main tank to hold chaeto in the overflow similar to the video, and just run marinepure in the sump.

Would like to minimize use of electricity on this setup. Definitely will be a tank build once I find time to get this started... other though is whether I would use and overflow box or actually drill... since outdoors, won't matter too much if things occasionally overflow...
