I don't see why not? We buy live crab all the time. Though it can be very messy to try to weight a live fish and don't you want to buy baby fish instead of full grown ones?

Ranch might give you the live fish (although local codes might prohibit that) I don't think they'll give you a bag full of water to put the fish in.
Does anyone happen to know if Ranch99 will sell their fish live instead of killing it? I am thinking to set up a veggie+fish aquaculture system in my backyard and would want to eventually eat both.
Lawrence should be very, very afraid that I just read this.

Aquaponics is definitely a thing, just make sure if it's outside that raccoons can't get at your fish, they will appreciate your setup though
