Our mission

To flush or not flush (the hoses) when done

Do people normally flush the (RO)DI hoses after they are done making water for water changes Etc etc.
We get by without RO but I do wonder about the water in the containers that remain. Does it pollute or use up additional media.

Is it better to simply keep the media or filters in the water or blow it out after.

My RO/DI system has a "fast flush," but I think that's just for the membrane. I'm not exactly sure what happens, but the instructions say to give it a flush once in awhile. I flush it for 10 seconds before I start making RO/DI, and I flush it for 10 seconds after.

RODI system usually have a "flush" which mean letting waste water from RO stage run unrestricted. This helps clean buildup on the RO membrane and help reduce TDS creep if the system hasn't been used for a while. This does not empty water out from the system.

I just shut off my water input when I'm done making RODI and leave the entire system as it is.
