The_Lazy_Reefers 108 gallon sps dominant mixed reef

Love daylight savings as I get to be super creepy and stare at my tank in the dark for longer periods of time.

Added 2 new fish over the weekend so I had the bad tomini mirror up to keep her occupied. For a few days after she is always ready for the rematch in the battle of alternate dimensions.

Looking pretty awesome for a "lazy" reefer! How do you like the jebao slw-20's and is the copper band still in there?
Haha it’s all about that setup to make me stay lazy. Maintenance for me is pretty minor as I rely heavily on nature and science to do the work.

I love the jebaos. Basically a Nero clone for way less than 1/2 and the flow is super wide and moves a ton of water if needed.

That cbb unfortunately died from ya know being a fish that shouldn’t really be in the trade. She was eating like a champ and had a field of Aiptasia she was picking on and are still there so I’m unsure of the cause of death. I replaced her this weekend though as it was making tremendous strides in my Aiptasia problem and as a bonus is inanely beautiful.

Well when I had to bump up the 2 part I forgot to update my calendar as when it needs more. My estimate is it was running dry for a little over a day and man is having a ph probe more important than I thought. Noticed my ph was lower than normal so I did the standard checklist of things and found my dosing container empty. Upon testing alk dropped from 7.8-6.2 and if not for my monitoring of PH I may not have noticed for longer so more and more I love having an apex. Brought it all back up to normal over the last 24 hrs and fixed my calendar.

Well my ecotech L1 finally seized up and doesn’t seem to want to work without a new impeller. Great way to end the night haha. Luckily @Oakland Evan had a spare Skimz return pump I spent the last part of the night plumbing into my reef to hold things over until I get a new pump. A backup return pump was on the list for Black Friday guess I’ll make that a x2 order.

Hmm, not sure. I assumed you could get them. Might also be one of those "rarer" items that they simply don't advertise or sell publicly only when you call/email customer support.

Just FYI. My RO DC return pump is 4 years old now and still going strong.

If your going DC the RO brand has been the most reliable that I’ve seen.

I do plan on replacing mine if I find a good deal during Black Friday. And that’s only because it’s so old. I’ll keep the old one as my spare.

I have a number of Vectras currently running. The longest is an M1 that I’ve running for 4.5 years. It gets a cleaning maybe once a year. In my book they’re a solid product.

I’m sure calling/emailing ecotech customer support could get you a new impeller. I’ve had really good experiences with their support when I needed for an mp10.
