80/20 light mounts - lightbars - need advice

TNUTZ.COM has some great prices on extrusion and hardware. Shipping takes a while tho. Still waiting for my order that I placed on 7/2. I plan on using a corner gusset to join a crossbar on my light post. Since I haven't tried it yet, I can't recommend it in confidence, but will let you know...

    Wazzupmac's Money Pit - Red Sea Reefer S-850 G2+

Is Kraken able to do a cutout for the AFS? I didn't see an option for it when getting a quote.

    Amazon Prime Day Deals

The smallest one..I think it was the fire 7..I don't think the 10 or 11 inch one would fit and it would be a waste

    Amazon Prime Day Deals

They had some good deals on Amazon tablets so I picked up one for an Apex display.. A few velcro zip ties for wire management and some Teflon for plumbing work. Almost hopped on the deals they had on the ecoflow battery backups, but remembered I still gotta get some lighting for my build

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I had 3 pieces made by them. A corner piece to hide wires, this drip tray and a side panel for the control boards. All together it came out to $400. The tray was the biggest of the 3, but the corner piece was pretty complex and is still being made. Not the most cost effective option, but when...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Got a drip tray made at Tap plastics. I liked the one on Parkers reef and thought this time around it would be a good idea...originally looked for silicone under the sink type mats but couldn't find one with the proper dimensions. Overall I think it came out with a clean finish. Only did a 1...

    Suggestion for new tank lighting

24" wide, you have alot of choices with LPS. From some nice kessils A360XE to a radion Xr15 and everything in between. They all have their strengths, I would read up on each one and find which color, shimmer, and output best suits your taste. LPS don't require much light when compared to acros.

The Money Pit: How much are you willing to spend on livestock?

As much as I can safely launder past the wife. I sold some gear today and got nervous when he paid in $100 bills after I told her it cost me $50 when I bought it. I'm going to have to start telling people to hand over the money in a handshake.. As soon as I start stocking my tank..Ima need...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Alufab finished with the mock up of the expansion box. I wanted it strong enough to hold up a bookshelf UNS tank for an eventual frag tank plumbed in. A little tighter in space than I would like, but it should fit the auto top off reservoir and ADJ switches well.

Anyone have a BRS coupon code?

Prices on plumbing parts are ridiculous now. I'm on my 3rd round of ordering pieces and all of them have been >$150.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I'm thinking about having an expansion box made by Alufab to match the stand...something to house the auto top off reservoir, ADJ power switches, and maybe some LiFePo4 back up batteries. Since it won't be holding the weight of a tank, I doubt it needs to be as thick as the stand...anyone have...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

After shipping and import fees everything came out to ~$875 for the piece. He made everything to spec as far as fitting it perfectly with in the tank dimensions I gave him and being a one off, I expected to pay right around there. He sent a repair kit with some glue and sand that he used on the...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Looked like alot of gluing and cutting...the tops of the scape are flattened off to glue frags to it and the layout is tiered to maximize display: Since it was the look I was going for I decided to bite the bullet and pay the man...its a better job than what I could have done trying to...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

It was packed pretty solid...no movement at all with bubble wrap all the way around. Still couldn't avoid a few breaks here and there, but for coming from the other side of the world, I can't be mad.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Got around to unwrapping the sump and skimmer today. So many choices and while I wanted to go with the tried and tested royal exclisiv I used in previous builds, decided on an Ultra Reef instead. The fiji cube sump is on the smallerside despite upsizing to the next one up, but will do the job...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Greetings yall! Back at it again and finally getting something setup to jump back in. I took a break for 10 years and jumped over to FW planted and plants for a while but couldn't find the same satisfaction I did with a reeftank. Started at this in 95 keeping a bubble coral and 2 aiptasia...
