How does water level control work when you are using return line to feed the skimmer? Wouldn't I be trading one problem for another? If somehow the outtake is less than intake because gate valve or whatever is used to regulate water level gets messed up, I would get overflow in display...

What would cause MH to turn on for 5 mins then turn off and back on and off again? Bad ballast?

How long is your photoperiod? How long is too long? How long is too short? Would having too short lead to brown corals?

Looking for a new recirculating skimmer for a 57G tank. What would you recommend? I'm planning on using drain water to feed the skimmer.
