For a 10 gallon tank it might make sense to just buy your salt water already mixed. Mixing it is easy enough if you have the time and the space. If you mix it yourself you may want to invest in a water purification system. otherwise your buying purified water so you can mix it with salt. :)

It is possible that they would not scratch the tank if you keep it uber clean. I witnessed the urchin eating coralline algae off the acrylic and as it was eating it was scratching. They did not ever try to eat the clean acrylic.

I have not cleaned either of mine in over a year. If I do clean them I first chuck them in a bucket of 25% bleach for a while rinse and then in a mild muriatic acid bath rinse and stick it back on the glass.

I can say for sure that it does not. Erin had quite a few in the tank with him. As a matter of fact my biggest concern about the CBB is that it might transmit Majanos! LOL:D

Erin had it in a holding tank for 2 years! It looked clean enough for me :)

Huge weekend! I wen to see Erin to pick up a new red serpent star that he had and while I was there I saw a copper banded butterfly that he had. So I got to come home with the CBB. I have some food for him!!! Thank you Erin (Kensington Reefer)
