Moving a 34g tank -- critique my approach please...

Lol, and yes moving the tank is one of the top items I wonder about. Lol, shows I'm addicted.

Moving a 34g tank -- critique my approach please...

I guess it depends where we move; I suspect it'll be somewhere in the South Bay which is at most a 30 minute drive from Cupertino. So maybe 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs from time of loading to time of putting everything in the tank in its new location.

Moving a 34g tank -- critique my approach please...

Hmm, I hadn't thought about the old sand losing its viability due to being agitated too much. That is really unfortunate as I love all the little creatures living in my sand. I guess keeping a few scoops will help ensure I keep some of the life in there that I like so much. Like, I doubt I'll...

Moving a 34g tank -- critique my approach please...

Hey All, Sorry I haven't been present as much lately. My family has been busy touring houses in the hope of buying a place of our own. One thing I got to thinking about in terms of moving is how I'll move my current 34g tank. Of course in a perfect world I could just set up the 90g tank I've...

    TGunn's 90g Reef

Hm, yes, that is a valid point. I have certainly seen my share of those places, even here in Cupertino. So I can definitely see the value of more proactive management. I just shudder at the thought of someone telling me that I've hung a bird feeder up and they don't like it, etc.. I've got...

I'm inclined to agree on the HOAs.. I haven't seen many showing up in Almaden with my search criteria. There are plenty a bit more East in Vista Park but the high school isn't too amazing. Lol amazing how this area can make me feel poor. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

We had a mortgage advisor give some advise on what we can afford. We are trying to buy based on my salary alone rather than my wife and mine combined. Heh yes we are very organized -- a budget planning spreadsheet is in the works which will include all the expected costs for a house such as...

    TGunn's 90g Reef

When we moved here we had our hearts set on Sunnyvale, but the prices have gone up so much that realistically we are not going to be able to afford that. I mean I see the occasional house at or just below a million but it's usually pretty rough. I also notice more and more houses being hugely...

    TGunn's 90g Reef

Well we went and saw a mortgage advisor and determined we can actually afford a house. Coming from the prairies it's shocking how much the bank will loan us, but a bit sad how little they gets. Lol. So the 90g will definitely be waiting until we get a house -- I'm guessing realistically in...

I've been here for 2 1/2 years. So it woudlnt surprise me. It doesn't seem many people are here super long term. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I'm writing a letter and I fully expect nothing will come of it. I know well that if I call them I will end up just getting super mad and yelling at them, probably saying some things that will surely get me evicted. :) Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Oh, to have more time, oh to have more time. I really would like to have gotten into building my sump and top off bin. However a couple weekends ago we got a puppy, so we've been busy getting him adjusted to his new home, and all the various puppy-proofing projects that come along with it...

Ah right I forgot all about Tap, and I've seen the epoxy while there. Perfect. I think I'll probably go for a tint. Thanks for the tips! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Where did you get the 2 part epoxy paint? What is the coverage like for it? I might go this route for ultimate durability. Yeah the hardware always rusts out quick. You may be able to paint them and then just ensure you keep the moving parts lightly greased and they shouldnt rust. Sent...

    In the beginning...

It may not be silicone. Since acrylic doesn't bond to silicone as well they could have used some other type of adhesive. Is the leftover adhesive hard or soft? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I think a razor blade is your best bet. You can get silicone removal spray from home depot. I've never used it though and would be worried about overspray or drips into places you don't want it. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
