    TGunn's 90g Reef

The overflow holds about 5.5g full, and I'll assume in a power outage the full volume will drain back to the sump. Each inch of water in the display is about 3.5g. If I assume 2" drain back to the sump in a power failure that makes a total of 12.5g drain back -- the sump I envision should be...

    TGunn's 90g Reef

Okay so I've been measuring and trying to figure what all I can fit under the stand. I need to keep absolutely everything in the cabinet. I have a 35wide x 21deep footprint to work with (20 near the doors due to hinges). So far I'm thinking: 7" wide x 20" deep x 23" tall top off container...

Hehe happens to the best of us. I've been there. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    TGunn's 90g Reef

Good to know on the dimensions, thanks. I'll probably either use a commodity glass tank and install baffles, or try my hand at making an acrylic sump.

    TGunn's 90g Reef

...and a new reef is born! I figured I should probably journal new new 90g setup in a new thread. Here is the tank, after successful delivery; thanks so much to @<3-2-reef and @wpeterson for moving the tank! WPeterson did a great job cleaning out the tank, so there's not much to do on that...

TGunn's First 37g in the Bay Area

I pulled one of my old Tunze 6101 streams out, thinking to use it on my new 90g tank. I can't believe how huge those are compared to even a Jebaeo pump. Wow. Guess I won't be using it. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Tank mover?

Thanks all! I think we should be good. I will be sure to post pics of the final result. Man I hate being gimpy. Just sliding my existing tank across the kitchen was enough to remind me I had big back surgery a year ago. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Free pumps

Seems POOLSCAPES has claimed the sequence; the PCX-40 is yours if you want it.

    Free pumps

I'm in Cupertino; work in Mountain View. Yes, the Sequence 1000 would be great for a water feature. In addition to pushing a lot of flow it can also handle something like 14-20ft of head pressure.

How to build a dual stage CO2 regulator for your ca reactor!!!

I've still got an old rusty chinese regulator kicking around from my 140g tank. Your regulator setups make me want to toss it in the trash and just get a new one if I decide to do with a reactor in the future!! Lol. Wow!

Seeking Advice for Making Screen Top

Just wanted to chime in; its much easier to do than you think it is. Make sure to get one of the "pizza cutter" type tools they sell for squishing the spline in. It makes it a lot easier than just jamming a screwdriver in.

    Free pumps

I've got two pumps I'd like to get rid of. One is a PCX-40; its not perfectly quiet as it should be so I suspect maybe the impeller is unbalanced or maybe it needs new bearings. In any case its great for a mixing vat. The other is a Sequence 1000SEQ22. Its a BEAST of a pump, rated at...

    Tank mover?

I've started a PM thread with those who offered to help. I'm hoping we can figure out a weekend time as that works best for wpeterson. Really really appreciate it. This is one of the many reasons I love this club so much; so many friendly people willing to help eachother out!

TGunn's First 37g in the Bay Area

I'm admittedly a bit ashamed at how poor I am at updating this thread.. It looks like its time to upgrade! I've bought WPeterson's 90g tank, so I'll be upgrading! Here's my current 37g oceanic as it makes its journey across the kitchen to the other side of the room. I'm glad I put teflon...

    Tank mover?

Euod and Coral Reefer have graciously offered to help so far. Did we want to aim to do this on Saturday? Do we feel 2 lifters are enough? Is a dolley useful? Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Tank mover?

It would be completely empty for the move. If you're willing to help, I'd really appreciate it. The move would be from Mountain View to Cupertino. I'd be more than happy to recover cost for gas/time, and provide move-time eats.

    Tank mover?

Hey I did contact Neptune and they don't do tank moves. I contacted a maintenance company, AquaLab, and they will do tank moves but I was quoted $350-$500 to move a tank this size. I'll have to call some movers to see what they'd charge, but given posted rates of $120-150/hr I'm thinking that...
