Matthew, Carbon should be in a media bag or canister and changed every 1-4 weeks. All media should be thoroughly rinsed before its placed in the tank, Carbon and Chemi-Pure both need to be rinsed to remove the "dust" that comes with that type of media. As I have previously stated...

I'd shoot off an email to all the shops and just ask...I bet for a fee, most shops will give you a hand.

I also use picassa - works well for me - and almost unlimited free space...

Sounds like a great day of surf...reminds me of nice winter swells at Zuma beach in Malibu...I miss those days!

The concept is great - its the time required to constantly put it on and take it off that makes it not feasible for me. I've found that anything in this hobby that is not automated, simply stops being done after a short time.
