    1400g Tank for Sale ???

Hey Arnold long time no talk ! All well on the home front, just working and doing maintenance as a way to keep my addiction for the hobby sustainable. Of course if I win the lottery I may or may not have a ginormous warehouse dedicated to fish tanks :D How about you ?

    1400g Tank for Sale ???

Yep, I mean great idea for a business, and maybe the network steered them into the land of frivolity; definitely not of interest to most aquarists.

    1400g Tank for Sale ???

It's the 24hour fitness guys' tank. About 9' long an 6' tall, tank itself. 10' with all the cabinetry. Tell me about the coral inserts, they are not easy. I don't see anyone maintaining those without algae. Guess I've been getting lucky the last 10 years :D

    1400g Tank for Sale ???

No problem. It's not technically for sale. Although it would cost a pretty penny just to remove. But yes I closed my store a long while ago.

    1400g Tank for Sale ???

Yeah seems like an impossible sell. Custom 10' tall tank, was actually featured on one of the TANKED episodes. Not only is this huge, but moving it would be exceedingly difficult. Just thought I'd post this up to see if the interest level is above 0.

    Check your pumps!

great example of how lightly we treat our mechanicals, not just talking amateur hobbyists but even diehards. such a contrast after working for a mechanical contractor for many years now. all commercial buildings have every fail-safe device imaginable - lead/lag pumps, water leak detectors...

Two blue tangs, porcupine puffer, huma huma and six clowns

the only issue I see here is that puffer. they get huge and can be extremely aggressive, even in a 670g tank. can being the key word though. I would also say there's a more than 50/50 chance he munches on coral and I personally would not risk it. I also wouldn't risk a humu humu in there...

Sick Yellow Tang -- any thoughts?

stay away from fine carbon, it pretty much equals hith in my book. glad to hear you're (the yellow tang) is through it though. definitely strange since all you did was clean the tank - but hopefully you've learned something ? i usually look to learn something from each experience. like did...

    Overflow should be centered ?

make sure you got enough teeth for 5x tank turnover - yes sealed with silicone or whatever and final. you don't want fluctuations to your "set running" water line in the sump

Looking for some experience based perspective

yes most effective could be tons of fish with no territories. not very appealing visually though

    Euthanasia method?

i used to use transmore (sedative used in shipping), but gotta admit, a strong whack is a very swift death

Looking for some experience based perspective

i agree depends on personalities. not just theirs either. you could have another boss fish be so imposing it supersedes their quarrels for example. but as a rule, i'd say get the smaller guy to have the advantage, like get comfortable in the tank first, then introduce the bigger fish.

Buying Quarantined fish from Bay bridge

Dang that's rough. All the more props to BBA. I've brought in dozens of flame wrasses (a decade ago - I'm out) and don't recall losing any. No treatment in those tanks either. Just acclimation, w/c, and good food.

Buying Quarantined fish from Bay bridge

I like BBA. Hope they do well. The fact they're trying to qt is great. On a side note, isn't it true that it takes months to qt for ich alone because it can remain dormant inside a fish ? I distinctly remember reading an article stating something to that effect. Point being, I don't think...
