I agree with Kyle if money is a concern. The other nice thing about this approach is that you can upgrade components one as a time as your interest in the hobby and the depth of your pockets grow. 40 gallon breeders are a really nice size, imho.

I think you're right. In addition to being nasty bullies, I believe twinspot hogs have been known to suffer from depression and guilt. :P

I love the coloring, but they can be jumpers. The last one that I had was a really nasty bully, on par with a six line. He killed a bluespot jawfish and then proceeded to commit suicide a month later. I still haven't forgiven him.

I have a nice 3" RBTA that I am going to DBTC. Rules: 1) You must have a sufficient light setup to maintain the BTA. Good T5s or MHs, no powercompacts. 2) Must one anemone prior to selling or trading. 3) This first gen DBTC is going to Pixelpixi as a thank you for the website.

Even better than backing up externally is backing up remotely. If your house burns down or you get robbed you still lose everything. My personal photos are priceless so I use www.mozy.com.

I was going to suggest unplugging all USB devices in case you have any plugged in. Also undock from any docking station you might be using. If you boot from a Windows CD, (depending on what version of Windows you are running), you might be able to have Windows "repair" the install...

I did the same thing with monti eating nudibranchs. Those things still give me nightmares. Amazing how every little bit of white detritus looks like a nudi when you are up late with a flashlight and paranoid about that little spot of STN on your monti colony... :P

I find that the best coloring for acans comes when they are pretty shaded. I've gotten really nice rainbow acans that go completely red in medium/high light. Nowadays I throw them all into caves.

You could consider a manifold off of your Reeflo to help eliminate a few of the maxijets. I haven't seen your setup, but you could potentially remove the Mag7 and a couple of the Maxijets (like the one to the BRS reactor and maybe the fuge one as well.) I run my BRS reactor and calcium...

Just shot him an email and asked when he might have a couple frags of that midas available. We can split it if he does. Each frag is $4-5 heads, so we can probably make 4 small frags from two of his frags. If it's like all my other acans, it'll grow out quickly.
