    My "Lazy Reefer" tank

Beautiful tank. I love the zoo garden. :) If you really want to go 'lazy reefer', then you should consider investing in a Spectrapure Litermeter 3 for automated water changes. It makes all the difference in the world for me.

    Hacked up my anemones!

I'm not sure how slicing up a really huge anemone would go. I am guessing it would be fine, but you will create a lot more toxins/pollution in the tank, so maybe it would be best to put them in a quarantine for healing? (But then you have the acclimation problem compounded on the fact that you...

    Hacked up my anemones!

Follow up post with photos of the anemones eating: Ok, the anemone definitely ate a mysis shrimp. Here are some photos: In this shot, you can see the mysis shrimp heading down into the mouth. The shrimp is the white little strip right below the brown spot on my pipette. (You can...

    Hacked up my anemones!

Thanks Mike! Yes, they are like little aquatic ravers waving glow sticks. (Not that I would know what a rave is like, of course... ahem.) Rich, if there's enough space next to your existing anemone, maybe you can put them close by each other. They get along great and the contrast looks...

    Hacked up my anemones!

Thanks Camry... I have had a lot of requests for anemones. Right now I don't have any available, but I will post when I do. --- Here are some updated photos. This was two days after they were cut. Clearly, the wounds are still visible, but the anemones have opened up...

34 Gallon RSM - Upgrading Lights

You should take up that offer on the bakpak. It's a decent little skimmer, I run it on my 15 gallon at work. It's compact and effective. That little tank is the one that propagates RBTAs like crazy. I run a 150w MH on that tank.

    Hacked up my anemones!

Actually, I don't think they're available. I spoke to them this past weekend and they said that they were all spoken for.

    Hacked up my anemones!

I've gotten a ton of PMs about the green tips. None available right now, I'll post when I have one available. Re-read my thread as I posted where I got them originally. (Actually, you could even just reread just this page... :P)

    Hacked up my anemones!

Yup, the one you bought is one of the clones, although that one was a natural split and not one that I split with a razor. I like these particular roses because they have the white splotches and striping on the mouth. I don't have any green tips available at the moment, need to let the one...

Need some advice on a T5 fixture

Thanks everyone! I will give a call out to some of those that have been recommended. (Viet, if you could put me in touch with your contact at Solar City, that'd be great too.) My roof should be done in the next month, so I will be in a good position to consider solar soon. :)

Need some advice on a T5 fixture

Can anyone recommend any of the bigger/better installers in the South Bay area? I have thought about panels for a long time, but it might be time to pull the trigger...

Need some advice on a T5 fixture

Maybe there is something wrong with my meter... We are really good about managing electricity. House is generally pretty dark, lights off when not in rooms, etc. It's only 1600 sqft, with 3 people living in it. Central heat, clothes drier, water heater all on gas. And on top of that the...

Need some advice on a T5 fixture

Arnold, yeah the Elos is Bonnie's, but she isn't exactly paying the PGE bill. :P My PGE bill is all electric charges... Last month it was $587 (1,835kWh) + $63.59 (61 Therms). Totally insane. I think the issue is that because I use so much electricity, most of my usage gets billed...
