    Tank Aquascaping project

I mainly put the egg crate there to keep the rocks from leaning against the glass and having any sharp points against it.. I'm paranoid, I know. But you have a great idea on growing corals off there! I was originally thinking of letting my GSP grow along the back since it spreads like weeds.

    Tank Aquascaping project

Hello all, I just thought I'd share a work in progress. I recently started aquascaping my tank, as when I first setup the tank, i honestly had no idea what I was doing. I am about 90% of the way done now, and thought I'd show the progress! I've attached a before picture, from when the tank...

What did you do to your tank today?

I'm in the middle of a very slow re-scaping of my entire tank. have to add the new rocks in slowly and move old rocks slowly to not stir up too much gunk. I will post pictures in a few weeks! On a side note, does anyone know how to get an urchin off of a rock? I need to get it off so that i...

    BAR Fish Trap?

i suggest using a google doc for people to access and update with the equipment they have. there would be several tabs indicating the different locations in the bay (i.e. southbay, east bay, etc), and people would post in their corresponding location

Everyone doing OK with the heat?

Definitely possible to overdose! if you normally evap 1 gallon a day and you are dosing per that expectation, but suddenly use 5 gallons a day, then you might be in trouble from dosing too quickly. Evap is great for cooling my tank, especially since I don't have a chiller. Pain in the butt...

Everyone doing OK with the heat?

Looks like we are in for another warm weekend! unfortunately I'm out of town and cant keep a close eye on it. I normally keep my tank around 80-81, so if it does swing upward, it usually only hits about 84, and that's a much easier swing than from 77. If I run my fans, then it never moves from...

well... test per test after the initial purchase of the tester comes to $20 per year vs $17.5 per year (assuming 50 tests per year) I think you can afford the $2.50 difference if you're planning to get into the hobby.
