    UV plumbing

This is exactly how I ran mine. But I don’t run it anymore and haven’t noticed any issues other than I don’t have to pay for bulbs anymore. Why do you want to run a UV?

Orphek OR4 vs Quanta Helix Light Bars

I have 4 of the Helix lights - 2 blue and 2 white. The build quality and materials is really impressive, you get them with dimmer switches if you don't have a 10v connection but will still need a controller or time for on/off. The blue version of the light is VERY blue, FYI. The white version...

Avoid buying things from China/HK sellers now (alibaba, AliExpress,..)

I've ordered 6 of these lights so far (2x via aliexpress @ $180 each and then 4x via alibaba at $145 each). I am curious if I will get a bill now too - my first order was on 2/25. Still, 6 lights for the price of a single XR30 - such a massive discount it's hard to complain if I do get a bill...

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

This is a huge problem for me and why I will not be replacing my sand sifting goby in the current tank and will eventually move to barebottom and/or reborn media substrate in my next tank.

    very low nitrates and phospahtes

"Uptake kinetics of corals exposed to enriched seawater have led to the conclusion that ammonium is preferentially taken up over nitrate (D'Elia & Webb1977, Wilkerson & Trench 1986)" https://www.int-res.com/articles/meps/68/m068p065.pdf "....ammonium (NH4+) enrichment tends to benefit coral...

    very low nitrates and phospahtes

Remember corals preferred method of nutrient uptake is via straight ammonia - this is another great reason to feed heavy and often - to keep your fish pooping to feed corals.

This is certainly true if the co2 in your room is higher than in your tank, but you’re insisting this isn’t your issue. Sounds like perhaps it is… Anyway carry on :)

I wouldn’t turn the pump down if you’re worried about your PH (???). Turn the pump back up and adjust the water level so that you’re skimming very dry. Your goal is simply to skim out less material, yes?

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

Why don’t you just tune your skimmer down if your goal is to skim less? This seems like a really roundabout way to accomplish that.

    Plumbing of a VarioS 2

Yes and it should fit very snugly. You could glue it I suppose but I never have.
