Well - it looks like given my time (I have a newborn and a 21 month old running around during WFH) - automation may be the best bet. Looking into a kH guardian now, and will see how things fluctuate when I do water changes / carbon changes.

I have a 40G - I have been doing 8G at a time. I can do less, but feel like the tank gets dirty pretty quickly.

Yeah reef crystals are like 11dkh normally so should I just aim to stabilize there instead of 9? Otherwise each water change will be a dkh shock... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Moved - update. Not getting better, but not getting worse. Will keep folks posted through the weekend with any changes.
