Just found dinoflagellates, anyone with experience?

I went ahead and bought both dinox, and a new bulb. i'll try the new bulb first, hopefully get it by next week. I just found out, that the last time i changed my MH bulb was January 2014. I wonder if that's been the problem with most of my tank issues.

Just found dinoflagellates, anyone with experience?

i want to mention also that the Dinos don't multiply when the lights are out. I can clean the tank before the lights go out, and won't see any until an hour after the lights come back on.

Just found dinoflagellates, anyone with experience?

The tank is 3 years old I think. I did replace the bulb with the exact type/kind/wattage since, but I can't remember when as I have now way of searching. The dino just happened recently after I introduced some things into the tank. @BAYMAC @anathema so both of you think maybe my lighting is due...

Just found dinoflagellates, anyone with experience?

Forgot to reply, but it looks exactly like online pics: lots of bubbles, carpets over everything, stringy, and im using a toothbrush to gently pull it out while n it's still manageable. It regrows so fast I'm seeing it in the same place within hours after cleaning Sent from my SM-N910V using...

Just found dinoflagellates, anyone with experience?

I just finished battling green cyano, and realized now I have small patches of dinoflagellates starting to develop. I'm not sure who I got it from, but I have an idea. Bubbles, brown sludge like hairs. They're multiplying fast as hell. Can't keep up with the manual removal. I've read how...

    FREE frogspawn

I got this from the last frag swap, and honestly I just don't have a great place to put these heads. I also have a way too high bio load. Should be two stalks, with multiple heads on each. I'll clean them up a bit before passing them on. Supporting members get priority.

    Seaslugteam Tank Journal

The trick to mixing baking soda, is to mix little by little at a time to the brs jug you are using. I like to fill the BRS jug about a third full, before putting in about a cup of the baking soda and mix vigorously. I continue this until I've got it all mixed up to a gallon. I can use this mix...

    Feeding Chat

In my experience, I have never been able to train my anthias to eat pellets or flakes before they all decided to die; not due to the lack of food, but for other reasons. Feeding them what they wanted to eat resulted in algae blooms.
