    The best canopy fans

+1 on the "IceCap fans" even though there 49 each, they do look pretty nice. Good reviews from what I just found. How does the variable speed part work, can you set the desired "OFF" temp? Thanks for the info

    Refugium Project

34g Red Sea, 14gal Gettocube.... Tomato, Tomato (that dosent really work like i want it to typed...lol) How did you know that was a 14?...lol Is that how you roll? Just remove the Biobals, and strip the paint with a razor blade where they are, and put a light on the back. The pic was just so...

    Refugium Project

No just remove the bio balls, and some of the rock back there, and shove cheto where it will fit (main bio ball compartment) If you light from the back, like i said you can still use the top mechanical filter tray, and the skimmer, which is in the overflow in area right? like this, but put the...

    LightRails

Yeah, there popular, in the .....um...."HYDROPONICS"... yeah...ahem... You can use one light, lower energy consumption... AND increase light across a wider range "linear footage" The stuff growing dosent seem to mind too much. I knew a guy in SF that has a "Medical facility"...ahem.. that...

    Refugium Project

In my opinion if you have enough live rock in the main part of the tank you do not need bio balls in the filter compartment. LR in the filter compartment, is Essentially natural bioballs, but it also has places for pods to live, so I usually have some back there. Have you thought of modifying...

Well if your in San Jose area your in Luck!! There a place called Weird Stuff Wherhouse. They have Boxes, and Boxes of fans, 12v (youll need to run a transformer) and some 110V (wall current) The Larger ones are quieter, but if your already set to 4" max youll need something like the two...

    Refugium Project

Yeah people are CrAzY with the Acronims "Hang On Back" Overvlow. I would have said a Hang On Back too, but they said you dident want to run a overflow or a Hang-On refugium. A HOB IS a external overflow. If you insist on trying the pump down, and pump back up system "EXPERIMENT OUTSIDE" with...

    Refugium Project

Yeah one way has to be a gravity flow, the pump drains one tank, which fills one up, and the excess is pushed back to the tank where the pump is located. Even if you bough 2 of the same exact pumps, id bet you would still end up with water on the floor someday. If you put the Fuge above the...

Blue tang in a 40G breeder...

You should make one of thoes lids that people make out of the bird screen, and the kit to make custom window screens. I can snap a pic of mine if you havent seen one. There slick, clean, and easily removed. In my experience, ive noticed most bottom dwelling fish Dart up to evade danger, unless...

Blue tang in a 40G breeder...

+1 on all this post I had a 3" one in a 125, and just about a year later hes easily 5" long and over 1+ side to side, hes a pig eater. If you want the Macro and plants in there Resist the urge, No tangs or rabbit fish. They always eat the stuff you want to keep first, its murphys law

FATTTTT scratches on my acrylic tank...

The review on that link mentions some helpfull tips. Deep scratches, he used 600 wet sand paper, then go through the diff ones in the kit. I think the Mag glass cleaner idea on the review is also a excelent idea. Wet sanding is deff tiresome. I actually sanded an entire 1932 Ford Hiboy street...
