I am kind of lost. I did the test corecctly I thought. On the insert thast comes with the test it says add a drop shake and another shake and so on until it turns yellow. The number of drops is the result. And I got to 19 drops before it turned yellow. which was off the scale on the insert...

API's KH test kit. It took 19 drops to change the color of the sample.No livestock is in the tank. Just cycling LR, some micro alage and sand.

7.3 meq/l 19 Dkh So start doing water changes or just let the tank cycle and worry about it when the cycle is over? Havent checked ca didnt think it was important during cycling. Should I check it? What should it bee 450-500?

I am getting confused. Long story short I am cycling my 90 and my ALK is 7.3. Is that too high I see some articles of people keeping it at 5. But is this too high? Should I just continue to let my tank cycle? or start doing W/C.

i assume if i wash it my tank wont be so cloudy?

If I am gong to wash it does it mater if I use tap water or ro/di water.

So wash or not wash. If I wash it I will loose all bacteria but I assume that isn't a big deal because I will be adding LR wont that reseed the SB?
