    Hi all! I have some extra live phyto that i can share if anyone needs them. Own culture that produces about a gallon each week which is way more than what I can dose. I am located near japan town in San Jose if anyone is interested ;)

    First try i squashed most of them with the slides, so second time i picked out a string with a toothpick and gently placed the second slide on top and didn't use the clamps on the microscope lol

    Most of em looks like this under white, and the ones that grow on zoa skins aren't so stringy and don't have bubbles in them

    Hey guys! I recently got some brown stringy like algae growing in the tank and also irritating some corals (growing on sps tips and zoa skins), so i took a sample and microscoped it but I might need some help IDing these. Looks like dinos to me but would like some more opinions before i start...

    I've used poly filter a lot when i had brass corroding in my sump, it did help a lot with removing copper and zinc and it also changes color when absorbing copper. Not sure about other metals but they do have a lot of articles on their website explaining how this thing works. Another that i had...

    Crab ID?

    For mine I actually just realized it was there yesterday. It was the hairy crab that caught my attention then I found out that there's another little guy in the crevice lol

    It's just so hard to see they're too tiny, I could only get this pic with macro lens, but i guess it looks like a bandit. I'll put it back on the colony and see if it gets bigger lol

    They sometimes do that to me too... for me the sps do better in lower nutrients but if it goes too low softies start melting with the high par, so I need to test frequently to keep it acceptable for both XD

    Thanks! omg you were living in Taiwan?! I am actually from Taiwan lol, only have been studying and working in the US for 3 years. I just went back this Feb and also checked out some lfs and now i'm just so jealous of the prices :confused:
