Nitrates using a Hanna LR nitrate read 0.04 PPM. Too low? I'll check again in a few days. Was a chore for me to figure out how to use it. Could be operator error. I dose phyto feast 2ml everyday and 0.5 cubes of spirulina brine every other day. Only have 4 fish, 2 clowns and 2 chromis. Would you...

They are coloring up well since I cut the OR3's down to 1.5 hours dawn and dusk and 2 hours at peak. It's really more like 600 PAR for 7 hours and 700 for 2 hours. Here's what they looked like early on. The green polyped stag used to be blue. It's turning purple base with green polyps. The dark...

I liked the scape when it was more open. I'm trying to stuff more frags in there and got some Aqua Rocks that I cut up to try to fit them in until I can figure out where to ultimately mount them. bt

I'm glad I've been testing, just should be doing it more often, sadly. I did not think the PAR I would get would be that high. Based on what I read about the iCon 24 inches above the sand bed I figured I'd be good. I was a little suspicious when things were lightening up. I was also running the...

IM SR60 - back after a long hiatus

These are the PAR numbers I got with the OR3s on. The low numbers on the top are for some corals on the backside of the rock work at the bottom.

I thought about stopping and test every day until the Ca and alk are where they were previously. I am going to drop by 15% to slowly get them back into range.

IM SR60 - back after a long hiatus

There are definitely exceptions, and i read about slowy bringing coral up to higher par as you refrenced not starting them there. He said zoas were melting, I only bring it up that 500 par at bottom of a mix reef may possibly be responsible. For zoas that's very extreme par levels imo. Thank...

Thanks for the info! I should have gotten or borrowed a PAR meter sooner. I think I would have turned the lights way down and acclimated to the light.

Changed lights from 50% white, 75% blue to 40% channels 1&2, 60% channels 3-6 - 1.5 hour ramp up/down, 9 hours at max, start 0900 OR3 blue plus, 0800-1030 up, 2-4 midday, 1930-2200 down I'll post up the PAR numbers a little later with the new settings.

Maybe so, found this on R2R. Have a couple SPS that are STN'ing and some zoas melting away. Could also be my Ca=500+ and alk=10.5. I'm going to slowly try to reduce these.
