We recently bought an established 12g nano, mostly with zoos, macro algae, and 3 snails. No fish. Do the snails have to be fed? I would think they would be OK without it.

LOL - Oh-Oh somebody has the addiction bad now!!! :D

No the snails do not have to be fed. They will live off of the algae just fine. Is this your tank or T's?

Well the tank was T's idea, as a quarantine tank. But you have to have some stuff in it, right? Can't have an empty tank. Have to keep it cycled. It came with brown, and reddish brown zoos, brown shrooms, all kinda boring, then some cool looking lime green shrooms. Also brownish(what else) star polyps. So if we quarantine something with bugs, all we would lose is brown stuff ;D

To answer your ?, I take care of both, she enjoys them both, so they're ours. AAAAHHHHH!

if they're the scavenging kind of snails, like nassarius, I believe you should probably give them SOMETHING to munch on once in awhile.
