I'm moving a tank this weekend. Just wanted to share my checklist of equipment for when I breakdown a tank and NOT setting back up. I always forget a few item so I created this list to make it easy. Some items may not be needed depending on the size of the tank and if there are any livestock still in the tank. Lmk, if there's anything you think I should add.

2 | Truck/Van/SUV big enough to fit aquarium, stand, sump and equipment | |

4 | Furniture dollies 4x | |
5 | Moving blankets 2-4x | |
6 | Ratchet straps 2-4x | |
7 | Cardboard or foam to cushion tank | |
THE BREAKDOWN | ||
8 | Nitrile disposable gloves | |
9 | Utility pump attached to Python hose to drain tank and sump | |
10 | Plastic spring clamps to hold hose on side of glass | |
11 | 5g water jugs to move/save water | |
12 | Bucket head wet/dry vac to suck out last bit of water and sand. | |
13 | Plastic scoop dust pan to scoop out sand | |
14 | 5g buckets. The more the better. | |
15 | PVC cutter. In case you need to cut pipes. | |
16 | Big garbage bags to put equipment in. | |
17 | Step stool / ladder | |
18 | Rubber bands. Keep power cords organized. | |
19 | Zip ties. Great for many things. | |
20 | Glass Scraper. Clean inside of glass before emptying. | |
21 | Vinegar glass cleaner. Clean the glass, suction cups will stick better. | |
22 | Microfiber cloths. Wipe shit down. | |
23 | Paper towels. Wipe shit down. | |
24 | Big bath towels. You will spill water. | |
25 | Phillips and Flat head screwdrivers. Remove doors or clamps. | |
26 | Wrench or Hex tool to remove bulkheads. | |
27 | Utility knife / Scissors. To cut shit. | |
28 | Razor blades. Clean inside of glass before emptying. | |
29 | Big storage bins for live rocks. | |
KEEP THE FISHES AND CORALS ALIVE | ||
30 | Big cooler or 5g bucket to hold fish/corals | |
31 | Fish nets to catch the fishes | |
32 | Battery power air pump with tubing and air stone | |
33 | Heater 50 -100w | |
34 | Extension power cord / Power strip | |
MISCELLANEOUS | ||
35 | PAR Meter to measure PAR of current coral placement - Can borrow from BAR | |
36 | Seachem Prime. Helps detoxify ammonia for fishes. |
