Another KH test kit observation

Elos, API, and some of the newer Salifert test kits have a pinkish orange tritrant, count drops until it changes to blue you get a slight yellow/green in between if you wanna get an idea of the .5 realm of dKH. The salifert is similar, however the test volume size is different as well as the drop size. End result is the same though.

In testing them side by side on different tanks and coming up with the same results, am I an ass in ass-uming that they are the same tritrant?

I have both Elos and API and both test exactly the same with the same color variations. I also was wondering if whatever is in those bottle is exactly the same except with a different label on it.

i haven't seen these new titrants. i always have at least 2 kits for each parameter and if they don't agree i buy a third brand. i have the older salifert, old api, and seachem

Hehe...

Haven't seen all the kits, but I'd suspect it's the same reagent. Though concentrations may be different to make the drops or volume work out with whatever conversion/chart that each company uses for its kit.
