Is there anywhere locally that sell copepods? Preferibly one of our sponsors?

www.reefnutrition.com sells TiggerPods. You can get some cheato from other reefer to seed your tank too.

Thanks Patrick, I have some Cheato in my Fuge. I just don't have any pods in the tank, or if I do the numbers are so small I can't see them

an easy way to get and diversity your pod population is getting macro from another. That place is an awesome nursery. Pods also hide out ther ein my tank since my 6line wipes them out everywhere else lol.

I want to get a large population established in my refugium and in my main tank. My long term goal for this is to get a Manderin Dragonet for my tank.

large populations happen when they are happy and breed tons of babies :) Nothing good happens in reefing fast.

i think the phytofeast live i dose regularly helps with the population...i change out the filter sock in my sump every 3 days and find at least 30-40 of them in there...i fish them out and throw them in the main tank for the wrasses...

Tony's right though, if you want a dragonet, you might want to avoid and wrasses

Key point missing...They breed best when fed, which makes them happy :)

Gresham is absolutely correct (as usual about this stuff). If I feed my corals enough phyto and rotis, then my pod population noticeably increases. Stop feeding the corals and pods start to thin out. Also, as a separate suggestion, keep your fuge dirty. If you have a little algae on the walls you will see the pods climbing through it. If it is too clean you may still be growing pods but they'll be hidden.

They also eat the diatoms that are present on your fuge walls.... IMO you should never wiped clean a fuge wall, that's exactly what is it designed for (harboring stuff). Diatoms are a very nutritions meal for many items in your tanks :D
