I was talking to some of you at the last mtg about the trippy color changes my 1 spot fox face makes and I finally got around to getting the pics up.

Here is the best 'normal' pic of him I could get.

Here is one of him when he got spooked I haven't been able to get one with the normal lights on

Mike caught his spooked foxface or more like scooped him up off the floor - Mike's hand was sore for a bit

Schweet I got a handful of foxface spines? Harumpf! But yeah, I was moving it into the new tank, it jumped the wrong way, I reached out to catch him to save him from a hard fall to the floor, well he was like peanutbutter on bread... always going to land upside down... spines were COMPLETELY flexed open, I swear it was like slow motion the amount of detail I saw... POKE... some choice words as I tossed it into the tank... hand was a bit sore for a few days.

But yeah, from my experience with rabbitfish that freaky coloring is a defense mechanism, look at night you'll always see them "camoflauged", also when they're stressed they go into that "you can't see me" mode.
