My vote would be to integrate some kind of tank tour with the photo shoot.

yeah it'd need to be integrated into a tank tour. the tank owners have the responsibility of moving their coolest corals to the front of the glass for some shooting. =)

also, clean that glass! corraline! everything!

there's a ton of people in south bay, east bay there's a few... my house is pretty darn far from everyone else's place I think, plus I have no water in my tank ;) (will i ever?)

If we get enough interest, it may be fun =)

I would be down for the tank tour portion, and learning about taking aquarium photos.

ok in the meantime before the next tank tour, let's setup a BAR Tank of the Month. We'll have a handful of people throw nominations in, with a photo and some specifications. Then we'll do a poll and have people vote.

We could probably vote depending on not only looks, but some kind of story. I know delsol recently went through a hard tank crash, maybe if his tank's looking pretty good now he'd win with the story, not only just looks.

Something like that.

THEN when the person wins, we'll all mob his house with our cameras and put up a nice picture page and TOTM type thing that Reef Central does.

It'll be a two in one sort of deal: BAR TOTM and Learn how to shoot reef tanks session.

"Bring your own chisel" comes to mind :D

Yeah - Acrylic is great untill you have to clean it! It's the stuff I just can't reach that's the big issue. The kent Pro scraper things only works for aboout 10 minutes before needing a new "blade"! I either need longer arms or a shallower tank :)

lol dave, you must have one monsterous tank, growing corraline like that ;)

There are different lengths of kent pro scrapers, though yours may still be too short in your tank.

Art, if you want to do a tank of the month ( which has been talked about before) go a head and start a thread on it : ) Lets see who would be interested. Maybe we could convince the BOD top throw in a little prize to spark interest. You should come by and help me take a full tank shot. : )
