Feels a bit weird. Things havent been going too well in my personal life, been trying to study for the bar but unable to focus and cant seem to get my nitrate problem under control, so tonight, after about 10 minutes of thinking, I called up a friend and told him to come pick up all my corals. I went downstairs to look at the tank one last time and realized how much I was going to miss my watermelon chalice and my war coral - my favorites by far. Im sure ill be back in the future but sometimes you just feel like something "dramatic" has to happen to wake you up and get you back on track. Unfortunately, I decided it would be best that the tank go.

I am sure I will still lurk the forums; afterall, its a hobby in and of itself! But thanks to all that have made this hobby so great for me, especially those that have helped me when I needed it and all the freebies of course. Hopefully I will be back soon.

You can't go................................We won't let you, .....................I completly understand where your coming from, when my tank broke it was an easy way for me to take a break from the hobby (so to speak -after 13 years) it's like a relationship sometimes you need to step back and gain a better perspective or appreciation for what you had or the time you put into it. You don't actually have to have a tank to be apart of the reefing family just continue to stay in touch. hope to here from you time to time and best of luck with the exam.

Oh man, that sucks. Well I've been on that teetering edge a few times myself, luckily for me I never have any corals that are so nice people want them (even for free :D). I'm sure your friend will take care of your corals, and you'll probably feel so much more at ease without a tank, maybe even go on vacation! Just try not to go visit your corals you'll get the itch something fierce! :D

Take care brother!

You never leave the hobby, you just take breaks. Did it myself a while back and don't regret it, do what's best and we'll see you back around the way.

Make sure your friend hangs on to your favorite corals for you, they'll be huge by the time you start back up.

Sorry to hear you're taking a temporary break, but sometimes a little break is all you need.

I hope everything goes well with your studies

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Yes, this will probably be an extended break so I am glad that my corals are in good hands. Im sure most can relate - sometimes when things arent going well, its a good idea to step back and reevaluate priorities and how I distribute my time. Although I have a small tank, I just spent too much time on it and I wasnt even happy with the way it looked! Im sure I will see you guys around and this will only be temporary. Hopefully longer than Seng :) Thanks again everyone.

Gresh - If my buddy doesnt kill my corals, ill hold you to it ;)
