How much Kalk in reactor

Hello. I have a DIY kalk reactor that is about one gallon in volume. How much kalk should I put in it? My make-up water goes through the reactor and I estimate my evaporation rate is around 10-12 gal a week. I put in 2 tablespoons and within a week, I have very little visible kalk on the bottom.

I'm thinking just putting more in, so I don't have to add kalk every week. I think this is okay, but I'd like to hear your opinions. TIA

You can put in quite a bit. The reactor stirs the solution and keeps the water saturated with calcium hydroxide. Everything else settles to the bottom. I would put in a cup or two which should last you at least a month.
