How to keep algae away

My tank has a lot of algae on the glass it is green, not hairy, kinda like freshwater algae. How do I stop it? I have Rowa Phos, but i haven't tried it yet. any suggestions?

how old is the tank and what is your water change schedule?

I have done test, but i thought the water change was supposed to be every 4 months but then i found out it was every 2 weeks. so im going to start doing that. I did the last one last week and the next one is this week. that might be it.

if you can do 10% weekly, it will do wonders in exporting nutrients and also keep your system nice and even.
