id this coral please

hello.....i am thinking of fragging this one and putting into dbtc (maybe by next meeting) , purchased from fraggle reef last nov.

in lower light it gets more green......higher light more purple

That's different. Kinda looks like porites since you can't really see polyps but what do I know

Is that similar to a Psammacora Jeremy? I'm too lazy to google it

i dont think porites , it does have small polyps like a monti but smaller and when i took the picks , i had just handled it so they retracted.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah I didn't think it was a porite but I was wondering if they were similar. What color are the polyps? (just cuz I'm curious, not that I'll be any help ID'ing )

Levi, you're right though it could be Porites rus, although the surface texture looks like a Psammcora though.

The surface texture is telling of a psammie IMO

polyps are the same purplish color as the coral .....i'll try to get a pic with them out later tonight.

Looks like psammacora to me too... texture and especially that blue/purple with green highlighted edges.
