Illegal to have caulerpa now?

I heard it's illegal to even have....True?

I thought it was just the Taxifolia

Yeah, for a few years now. Don't believe fish and game enforces, though.

Planning on being an illicit macroalgae dealer, CitS?

They sure do enforce it. So does CA Dept of Ag. IIRC 9 strains became illegal in 2000-2001 :(

I didn't realize it was 9 stains.
I thought it was only the one... :P

Although, that red caulerpa looks pretty nice...

it does look nice, isn't it? I'm looking for some green one to feed my tangs too ;D .. I hate California. Every freaking thing is illegal :- ???

There is no red caulerpa. Caulerpa belongs in the green macro catagory ;) The red is miss id'd and the name used is a common name, like Pineapple coral.

Don't hate California, hate the idiots who flushed it, or threw it away and allowed it to take hold. They're the ones who screwed it up for everyone... yet they don't hammer container ships and the like who more often brings non-native species to areas and cause major issues.

Always gotta be going after the little man!
