I finally got a chance to start cycling my 225 gallon tank. Here a picture of the set up.

You might want to get rid of that felony sitting there in that picture (Berkeley Farms labelled milk crate) or at least blur it out :) They're REALLY cracking down right now on them.

Nice tank :) What are your lighting plans?

2 or 3 lumenarcs

To reflect the ambient room light?

What is going in the 2 - 3 Lumenarcs? ;)

6 ft length x 3 ft depth x 20" height, I will be using 250 watt 10 k reeflux bulbs with the lumenarcs

Any actinics? I'm going with 2x 150 10K reeflux I think, with 2x actinic VHO for my 4x2x2

I have 2 sets of t5 48" retros I may use. Most of the equipment will be transfered from my 125 as I break it down.

What do you feel is the best T5 actinic(daylight as well :) )? My buddy is setting up an 8 bulb Tek Light and I have never used T5 as main lighting so I have no idea what bulbs are good.

Does the Tek light have separate plugs for a number of the bulbs? Or is it always on or always off only?

My experience is that actinic bulbs don't really make much of a difference if they're always on, on my softie tank, I have 4-t5s and like a mix of "daylights" and "blue" (different brand names have different color names last I looked), I originally also tossed on 2 actinic (purple colored) bulbs, I think they were giesemann brand (german) and it really didn't do much. The light was already blued up, and the only think it added was a little night time viewing when the main lights were out.

Not sure about the 8 bulb setup, but the for the 4 bulb setup two separate plugs.

I think the vho's will complement the 10k reeflux quite well.

There should be 4 ballasts in the 8 bulbs setup. If you want you can open it up and rewire them so you can have 4 switches instead of 2.

Why though? It doesn't need to have so many switches in my friends usage.

That's looking really nice. I like your choice of fish too, there are several I have in mind if I ever get a larger tank.
