Which plastic surgery (name of the shop) are you going through and where? The significant other needs some touch up as well. ;D

It looks like they've done a nice job in prepping her up for surgery. Show us the end result.

So, Brian, when do you get her back for... um, test drive?

Alvin,

they do very good work but it isn't cheap and takes a ton of time. I have has it there since the beginning of Jan and probably won't get it back till mid to late April.

You're just wrong Bryan... ::) It looks like it still has a long way but I bet it'll be worth it. Can't say the same for all the work I've done on my house :) :p

Just got the call. The paint work will be done on Friday, then off to my mechanic to put the engine back in. All goes well I may have it back in time for the BBQ!!!

Kept it original or as close as possible as they don't make the paint any more.

Here is an old far away shot where you can't see how bad the paint damage is.

At least it wasn't one of the bad late 60's early 70's colors.

nice VW ;)

good luck with the paint guys, they sure know how to drag their feet! looks like your doing it right . I love to see a sweetheart stripped ;D

Sorry I know this is sooo of topic but of course after 9 months of being painted and shop time I finally got the finished product back last Thursday so I thought I might post some updated pictures that are less nude.

Thanks for entertaining my overenthusiasm

Nice... I had a 74 with webers.. :) Not the bbq mind you :) I've always been partial to silver but yours is growing on me ;D

It's nice to see someone take pride in their car to have the paint done right.. Instead of the multiple colored door jams and trunk/engine bay.. :)

Though it took me almost 6 years of pinching pennies to paint it the car was kept in immaculate shape by the prior owners. Heck I didn't even need to redo the trunk the whole car was completely free of rust aside from a few surface bubbles.

Here is a shot of the untouched trunk plus a little gem the prior owner gave me with the car (a Revell model from the early 70's)
