I wonder if it's the same as joe's juice and blue vet. It looks the same.

LOL :D

I tried the Blue Life and liked it. I just have to get my lazy butt up to go nuke the rest in my tank

Eileen - Where'd you get the Blue Life from and is it easy to use like Joe's Juice?

I would imagine they are all the same, kalk with some salt to get the animal to ingest the kalk. If you just use kalk and water the Aiptasia retract before getting a facefull.

so what is the magic formula? Other than going all out and using something like sodium hydroxide.

I picked up the Blue Life stuff from Marine Depot I think Ocean Treasures may have it (give them a call).

It melted the aiptasia real good. Kalk paste and Joe's Juice seems to melt them half way & I had huge aiptasia as will (you know the kind where the oral disk is the size of a quarter)

Jeremy, here is what it says on MD. That's why I'm interested to find out. Wondering what they put in there.. Anchovy flavor?? :D
...............
Existing treatments are often unsuccessful as when threatened Aiptasia quickly retract into holes in the rock and release planula (larvae) in to the aquarium which can rapidly develop in to full anemones. Additionally any part of the anemone’s body left attached to a rock can regenerate into a full anemone. Many treatments can therefore lead to a proliferation rather than the removal of Aiptasia.
...............

Aiptasia-X consists of natural components which form a uniquely thick, adhesive material. Instead of causing the Aiptasia to feel threatened, the unique formula is sensed as food stimulating the anemone to expand and ingest the material. The adhesive form of the treatment makes both the application of the material easy as well as sealing the anemone’s mouth preventing any release of planula. Within minutes of applying the material the Aiptasia will implode, eradicating both the anemone and its planula.

That sounds like the Joe's juice package...

The Joe's juice patent is out there for all to see, that was the first product to combine the ingredients.

Never quite liked Joe's Juice, but maybe it could have been the way I nuked the aiptasia - it never melted them off.

Now I turn off all the pumps and powerheads for about an hour once I start nuking the suckers

Table salt (non-iodized), and kalk according to the patent.

Joe's juice is too thin IME it gets all over everything, I just seal them in with kalk paste, and use peppermint shrimp for the little ones.
