Nitrates

Having trouble controlling nitrates. Has anyone have experience with az-no3? Anyone have a nitrate remover reactor thing a jig that they are looking to get rid of? Thanks

How about a few big water changes?

Maybe skim more wet?

Clean up debris in the tank and sump?

I am now sugar dosing and it works as long as you have a skimmer.

Do you have a fuge? My cheato soaks up my nitrates quite well.

i've heard az-no3 works pretty well. don't run carbon / other media and make sure your skimmer is totally dialed in.

Just a slight precaution in using az-no3 - go slow and build up the dosages.

fuge's really help with export...aggressive skimming along with cleaning your collection cup twice a week will help...we ran a DSB in our old tank and it helped a bit...as you saw when you saw our setup were running a denitrator...it was expensive, but it brought our nitrates from a steady 10 to 0 in about 4 weeks...we do about a 20% WC every month and everything stays happy..heres the link to the company we got the denitrator from if you want to read more on it:
