I've been looking at getting one for the longest time, but never went through with purchasing one. Well, it looks like last year's model are still available, with some cost savings.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the old one:

That is a current model as far as I can tell. It's the QMSS-ELEC which is what you should get unless you wnat to measure real sunlight as well then you get the QMSW-SS.


You linked two seperate probes but no meter Go for one of the two I said above, don't put together a piece meal one as there's no real advantage really.
