Power Watch East Bay (FYI: North Berkeley has been off and on)

Power has been bouncing on and off at my house all morning. I hooked up my battery bubbler just in case.

Is there anyway to get notified by PG&E about power outages? Any websites that track it?

I'm pretty sure a transformer blew, same thing happen in my neighborhood on the last hot day.

Call them here at 1-800-743-5002. PGE will call back or give estimate when power restored.

Planned outage PG&E legally needs to give you advanced notice, however "accidents" obviously that's not the case. Also notifying customers there power is out isn't a high priority for them since there's a small cross section that actually will have something "bad" happen if it goes out

there is an elderly man across the street from me, I think he on some sort of life support, a really annoying alarm starts beeping and minutes after a home care team is parked in front of his house.

How long can a moderately stocked tank go without water movement? I have a battery backup, but that only works if I am there to turn it on, if the power goes out while I'm in the lab I might not find out for 8hrs...

Oxygen generator no power alarm. I here them quite often at work as we use the same units as them (we get their refurbs).

Water movement is the most critical part. Your tank actually will be better off cooler in a time like that (o2 levels are higher at lower temps plus lower respiration) but movement is critical since our corals don't lungs

8 hours is pushing a heavily stocked tank, I can tell you that. What are we talking about in terms of load vs water?

errr, my email notification is killing me! I only get emails 50% of the time, not sure if it is on my end or BARs.

Anyways, in terms of stocking I would say about 1.2lbs LR per gal, 1lb LS per gal, and 1fish (small fish) per 12gal, and maybe 5% total volume in coral.
