Precipitate on glass problem

In my nano tank I added a little sodium bicarbonate to the top off water in an effort to raise the alk. Unfortunately all I got was a white cloud when the water hit the tank and what's left is white residue over ~80% of the glass. Has this happened to anyone and is there an easier way to clean it rather than draining it and using vinegar to wipe it off? w/o vinegar the algae scrubber & hard rubbing doesn't clean it off.

A Magic Eraiser would work but I don't know if they are safe to dunk in the tank...

Actual glass glass? Have you tried a razor blade?

+1, also those Kent metal scrapers work well too.

Make sure to double check your mag, it may be a little low.

ok, i'll give it a go- I have razors & the metal scraper which I'm more comfortable with.
