Replacing powerhead on Bak Pak

Hey all,

The Rio powerhead on my Bak Pak is on its way out. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good replacement powerhead for it. If not, will the Rio 800 RVT be too much flow for the Bak Pak?

Thanks all,
Mike

If the mesh mod doesn't work out, the MJ1200 alone worked fine for me -decent skimmer for the buck.

none of the above. I run a Bak Pak and have since they came out in the 90's :) Use the pump that is designed for the unit...http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/bakpaks.html

it works way better then all that was mentioned above, way better. I've done the mesh mod, NW, MJ, Rio but this pump kicks arse :)

I completely agree with Gresham, I had to replace a pump on a clients tank recently and got one through CPR, that new little pump rocks, it really changed the skimmers performance.

Thanks -how much do they run for compared to MJ1200's?
