RO filter advice please

I have a 5 stage RODI system and use a 1 micron poly sediment filter from the filterguys.biz as my first stage. I first started using my RODI around December last year, and I'm surprised that it already looks like this:

I took that pic this morning. Is this expected after 4 months? I live in SF, and so far have noticed my tap water TDS to be really low, from 20-80. I'm not sure how many gallons I've produced, but I've been light on the water changes if anything. How often do you guys replace your filters? Should I use a different sediment filter?

Depends on how much water you are using and how much sediment is in your water. I have a few units that need the sediment cartridge changed every 3 months, some can go a year. I'd change it out, their cheap.

Thanks tuberider, just looked it up online and yeah, at $3 each I'll just change it every 3 months.
